Are you planning a gap year before applying to medical school or PA school? Charlotte Dermatology offers a hands-on, immersive experience through our Gap Year Medical Assistant Program. This opportunity is designed for motivated pre-med and pre-PA students seeking direct patient care experience in a fast-paced dermatology practice. Working alongside our experienced providers, you'll gain valuable clinical skills, exposure to medical procedures, and mentorship that will strengthen your future applications—all while earning competitive pay and benefits.

A position as a Gap Year Medical Assistant at Charlotte Dermatology offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on clinical experience and build a strong foundation for your future in medicine. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist providers with a variety of office procedures, including biopsies, surgeries, cosmetic treatments and treatments for a wide range of skin conditions.
  • You'll be involved in all aspects of patient care and education, gaining valuable insight into dermatology and the healthcare field.
  • Receive a letter of recommendation for your graduate program from us in order to support your professional growth.
