What to expect
Appointments for chemical peels are typically quick—sometimes as short as 15 minutes. The treatment begins with a gentle facial cleanse to prepare your skin, followed by careful application of the peel. Your skin is closely monitored during the process, and once optimal results are reached, the peel is either removed in-office or you’ll receive instructions for removing it at home. Depending on the strength of the peel, we may apply cold compresses and soothing skincare products immediately after to calm and protect the skin.
At Charlotte Dermatology, we work closely with each patient to provide personalized aftercare instructions that maximize results and minimize downtime. We’ll guide you on how to care for your skin at home, what to expect in terms of redness or sensitivity, and when it’s safe to resume using makeup.
