About Your Provider
Melissa Boothe is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in general dermatology. She enjoys treating a wide variety of dermatologic conditions and patients of all age groups. Melissa strives to connect with every patient and is passionate about continuing medical education, patient education and preventative medicine.
Melissa grew up in the small town of Lincolnton, NC, just outside of Charlotte, where she was exposed to healthcare from a young age, working in her father’s dental practice and at Eckerd Pharmacy during the summers of her teenage years. She and her three brothers all attended UNC Chapel Hill for their undergraduate degrees and are all healthcare providers in different fields. Melissa earned her Bachelor’s in Nursing from UNC-CH and worked at UNC Children’s Hospital on the Pediatric Surgery floor for two years before pursuing her Master’s Degree at Duke University. After graduating from Duke, she returned to UNC to work as a PA with the Pediatric Surgery team from 2007 to 2009, before moving back to the Charlotte area to join Charlotte Dermatology. She has been with Charlotte Dermatology for nearly 16 years and still thoroughly enjoys her career.
Outside of work, Melissa loves spending time with her husband, two energetic children and her dog. She also enjoys tennis, pickleball, running, traveling and visiting family in Denver, NC, Chapel Hill and Virginia.
