Dr. El-Gamal is a skilled and compassionate board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon, specializing in dermatologic surgery with a particular focus on Mohs surgery for treating skin cancer. He has been serving the Charlotte, NC community since 2005 as the Director of Dermatologic Surgery at Charlotte Dermatology’s 7th Street location. Prior to joining Charlotte Dermatology, Dr. El-Gamal served as the Director of Dermatologic Surgery at Indiana University from 2003 to 2005, where he further developed his skills in complex surgical procedures.
Born in Cairo, Egypt, and raised in Minnesota, Dr. El-Gamal has made Charlotte his home since 2005. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS), and he is an active member of the Charlotte Dermatology Association, the North Carolina Dermatology Society, and the North Carolina Medical Society. Outside of his medical practice, Dr. El-Gamal enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, as well as pursuing outdoor activities like fishing, camping, tennis, skiing and traveling.
